27. Experience 2.Enta

While eating dinner at a local night market A brother was explaining some of the sacrifices that some people who only study make to serve Jehovah fully. For example, Meet Enta. "When Enta ( pronounced IN-TUH) started studying he worked for 300 Baht a day ( 10 dollars U.S) when he became an unbaptized publisher and started coming out in service more he realized that his job was interfering, so he quit. He then made his own business of selling his home made drinks  as a street vendor. Here he makes between 190-300 Baht a day, maybe more. Now he is regular in service, business is going well, and he is making fine progress."

26."Sunrise"

This morning we were suppose to see the sunrise. Due, to the heavy clouds the sun creeped up with us not even noticing. There were about 12 of us that  went together. We saw monks, jellyfish, did the days text, and enjoyed some good ocean breeze, . ( Take advantage of it wherever you are)

P.S: Service is scheduled for Tuesdays--Saturdays. Monday and Sunday are off days.

25. Funny... at least to me

So apparently all my emails I was emailing to the brother in Thailand was being shared with the friends of the hall. In one of the emails. I stated that i would like some safety questions for the person picking me up from the airport. Quickly i thought of 2.
1. What is my favorite animal?
2. And according acts 16:9 what am i stepping into?
The answer to #1 if you all don't know is a Giraffe.
So, while sitting eating dinner. The Wife of the brother i was sending emails to started talking about monkeys and then abruptly starts laughing heavily while looking at me. Now I'm confused, i thought i had a bugger, maybe some food in my eye, i don't know something must have been that funny for her to be laughing that hard. Then she asks in her Sweden accent, " So, Gabriel. What is your favorite animal?" Not knowing what she was laughing about. " I said a Giraffe, because..." Not even able to finish 6 people start laughing. Hands over mouth, slapping table, everyone is laughing. After stating that it was a smart idea, she then says " A, Giraffe? I couldn't imagine a Thai person trying to say that word. When Davide was emailing and responding to your emails and read that he woke me up from my deep sleep, read it to me, and we laughed all night. Thank you for making our night. We get some funny questions and requests all the time but that is officially on the top of our list."

Literally, for about 30 seconds i felt some sort of way about people knowing about my emails. But, the brother commented " We have been waiting for you. And everyone constantly asks about your arrival, so we share what we know. I felt better after that .lol

24. Meeting day

Today was meeting day. We woke up, went to our "gym", went and bought some food from Kims Kitchen ( thats our spot now. Thats the only place we know how to ask for a low carb meal because everything here is  fatty and fried). Meeting was very encouraging. A brother who is Chilean, is apart of the chinese group, drove 3 hours from Bangkok to Hua Hin to give our public talk in enlist, very encouraging. We enjoyed his talk about " Are you walking with God?". Very fitting because in Thailand we walk and ride everywhere especially for service. One illustration that i liked was, " The desert is dry. Would you walk in the desert and decide to have a nice hot cup of coffee. Its your favorite coffee, or would you drink water. Of Course water, because thats what we need. Same thing, we live in a dry world. We can see it in the eyes of the people we meet on a day to day basis. Is it time for us to persue the things we like or want. No, Drink water and continue to do Gods work."

23. Experience 1.Sis from Japan

" When i was 12 years old, I was very sneaky. So i sneaked into my sisters room and saw a book that  read, Young People Ask. I said to myself, "Im young, i should read this."So i read the entire book. I thought it was very good. When i finished, not knowing the connection of the book and the bible, I told my mom i wanted to study the bible. So my mom called the Kingdom Hall. Out of all the places, Why the kingdom hall? Because my moms dad used to study with the Witnesses. But there were conditions, i could study but not become a Witness  I Studied and now i am here in Thailand at the age of 17, expanding my ministry and continuing my study."

22. TIME FOR SERVICE

Today we made it out in service. WOW what a difference!! We woke up this morning and rushed to the kingdom hall which is basically 17 seconds away from our house. Technically we don't have to shave but for impressions we did today. Immigration took our haircut machines apart thinking it was a bomb or something so we had to try to fix it and put it together.

We arrive at the Kingdom Hall and it is very beautiful place, as all Kingdom Halls are. We enter and there is a Thai Brother taking the English and Thai group out for service. He pairs One english person with a Thai person. Together there are at least 60 in the Hall that make up the group for service. We all pack up, say hello, and off we go. It feels like riding in a biker gang to go into the territory. The territory we went into today was about 10 minutes away. There we walked from door to door, business to business, and tins to tins in the humidity. One sister while going to an RV fell off her motor bike ( as they call it here). She is ok and thank Mom for the first aid kit she gave me to take care of injuries.

The schedule for meetings here in English:
 Tuesday-5-7pm
Sunday- 4-5:15 pm
To teach us Thai we have the option of going to  a Class at 7pm on Saturdays. We are definitely going to do this.
